The Rho1d4 Tag (1D4-tag) is a short peptide tag derived from the C-terminus of bovine rhodopsin. The Rho1d4 Tag is a rhodopsin tag that for detection and purification of proteins. Recombinant proteins are usually expressed with affinity tag to allow their purification, conjugation by ELISA, flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation etc. Described by Hodges et al. and MacKenzie et al. in 1984. This peptide is biotinylated at the N-terminus.
