The VSV tag is a short peptide tag derived from the vesicular stomatitis viral glycoprotein. The VSV Tag is an affinity tag that for detection and purification of proteins. Recombinant proteins are usually expressed with affinity tag to allow their purification, conjugation by ELISA, flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation etc. Described by Kreis et al. EMBO 1986. This peptide is biotinylated at the N-terminus.
