T-cell receptor-engineered T-cell therapy (TCR-T) is rapidly gaining momentum in the field of cancer immunotherapy. Unlike CAR-T cells, which recognize surface antigens, TCR-T cells can detect and eliminate cancer cells based on intracellular tumor-associated antigens presented by MHC molecules, offering broader therapeutic opportunities across solid and hematologic malignancies.

A recent comprehensive review (Zhang et al., 2023) highlights the 16 major cancer targets currently pursued in TCR-T clinical trials.
