- The peptide market expanded rapidly in 2025–2026, and with it came exaggerated claims. BPC-157 has human trial data for tendon healing and gastric ulcer repair. It does not have Phase 3 human data specifically for osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. Current joint pain applications are based on animal models and case series. TB-500 cleared Phase 2 trials for wound healing in diabetic patients and shows promising Phase 1 safety data for cardiac repair, but joint-specific human trials are ongoing as of 2026.

The UC San Diego trial enrolled 84 patients with active rheumatoid arthritis and used intra-articular KPV as an adjunct to standard DMARDs. Results published in April 2026 showed KPV reduced flare frequency by 58% over six months compared to placebo injections.
