What is a PepMix™ Peptide Pool?

PepMix™ peptide pools are overlapping peptides spanning a whole protein or antigen. They have been designed to stimulate antigen-specific T cells without the disadvantages of using proteins. Unlike full proteins, PepMix™ peptides are more soluble, customizable, and stable.

What are these different PepMix™ Peptide Pool Formats?

We offer different peptide pool formats to accommodate specific applications, e.g. overlapping peptide pools, Ultra pools, control pools and Pan Select pools.

Which technical specifications should I consider?

Quality Grades: RUO (research use only) for basic research ISO-Plus for GLP studies, preclinical research and clinical immune monitoring produced with quality measures beyond ISO 9001 CGP (clinical grade peptides) with GMP-like quality for clinical studies, development of cell therapy and peptide vaccines.

Quantity: Our standard PepMix™ Peptide Pool contain 25µg (or 15 nmol) per peptide. Purity: research grade (crude with guarantee), development grade (>70% HPLC/MS), or trial grade (>90% HPLC/MS)

Sequence length & overlap: Outside of our standard 15mer length and 11mer overlap, we can adjust it to your requirements.

Other useful information to keep in mind:

Peptide solubility: The stock solution can be diluted for use in your assay. Based on literature, we recommend a maximum DMSO concentration below 1% (v/v) in cellular assays.

Peptide storage & stability: In general, peptide stability over time increases if peptides are stored freeze-dried, if possible, at -20° or lower. You can directly order small freeze-dried aliquots from us. In storage, avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles and prepare small aliquots!

Peptide purity: peptide pools are offered with a specific purity (e.g. >70% or > 90%), and we always analyze each peptide to provide the guaranteed purity for each individual peptide. We assure that each peptide is at or above the target purity specification!

In parallel to our continuous PepMix™ efforts, we we are able to provide you also with our own ELISpot services. Our expertise in antigen-specific stimulation is highlighted in the Handbook of ELISPOT (Schnatbaum et al., 2024), and we ranked 2nd in a global T-cell ELISpot proficiency test in 2023. We have developed standardized protocols and actively contribute to the ELISpot Resource Group, supporting global workshops and knowledge sharing.
