VITAMIN B12 (VAHY tuh min B12), or CYANOCOBALAMIN (sye an oh ko BAL a min), prevents and treats low vitamin B12 levels in your body. It is used in people who do not get enough vitamin B12 from their diet or when their digestive tract does not absorb enough. Vitamin B12 plays an important role in maintaining the health of your nervous system and red blood cells.

This medicine may be used for other purposes; ask your health care provider or pharmacist if you have questions.

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

  • Health issues you have now or have had in the past
  • An unusual or allergic reaction to any medication, supplement, food, dye, or preservative

  • Breastfeeding

  • Nausea
