3. Human Clinical Data Is Thin for Most Research Peptides

As of April 2026, BPC-157 has exactly three published human studies — all pilot-scale, all from the same research group, none with placebo controls. TB-500 has even less human data. The media is correct that injecting these peptides means accepting meaningful uncertainty about long-term effects.

Factor 4: Evidence Quality

Not all peptide evidence is created equal. Some have extensive clinical trial data, others rely primarily on anecdotal reports. Some have decades of use in specific medical contexts, others are newer with limited long-term data. This doesn't mean you should only choose peptides with the most research—sometimes newer options with less data might be worth considering based on your specific needs. But you should understand what type of evidence you're working with and factor that into your decision.
