Stearyl-Arg9 - stearyl-R9 is a cationic cell penetrating peptide (CPP) that can be used as a cargo delivery system across cell membranes and to study intracellular processes. Polyarginine and its various derivates are used as cargo delivery peptides to introduce molecules into living cells. However, they often end up in endosomal compartments, thereby decreasing the activity of the cargo. Conjugation of the polyarginine to a stearyl moiety has been shown to improve activity.
