2. Integrating Aqueous SPPS, Green Disulfide Bond Formation and PFAS-Free Alternatives for Peptide Resin Cleavage

Our second publication in The Journal of Organic Chemistry (J. Org. Chem. 2025, 90, 15909–15915) highlights remarkable work accomplished in just a few months: the research was carried out by Thilda Qvist, an M.Sc. student during her thesis project at PolyPeptide in Malmö—an outstanding scientific achievement in her role as an undergraduate student.

The paper focuses on expanding the reach of aqueous SPPS using standard Fmoc amino acids, carrying out disulfide bond formations sustainably, and replacing TFA with PFAS-free alternatives for peptide resin cleavage.
