What are Peptides?

Peptides, similar to proteins, are short chains of amino acids that our body naturally produces. They act as signaling molecules within the body, instructing other cells and molecules on what functions to perform. What is Peptide Therapy?

While our bodies naturally produce peptides, the production of peptides in individuals can vary greatly. We generally see a decline in our bodies’ production of peptides as we age. This is where peptide therapy comes in. Peptide therapy uses peptides in treatment to direct cells to perform the function specific to the peptide being used. Since our bodies naturally produce many kinds of peptides, there are many different types of peptide therapy, all of which trigger a specific function within the body.

What are the benefits of Peptide Therapy?

With so many peptides out there, peptide therapies have a wide range of benefits, including weight loss, improved cognitive function, enhanced immune system, and many more.

One specific peptide, known as Peptide CJC 1295, increases the production of a significant growth factor in our bodies. This peptide in treatment leads to fat loss, lean muscle growth, and better sleep.

Other peptide formulations include Ipamorelin, which increases growth hormone production, increases lean muscle mass and stamina and decreases the refractory time between workouts. There is also frequent improvement in musculoskeletal issues resulting from tissue repair.

Another peptide, known as Thymosin alpha-1 (TA1), improves the body’s ability to fight harmful viruses and bacteria. TA1 is the most common peptide used in peptide therapy, as many adults have opted to strengthen their immune systems through this treatment.

Although less common in treatment than TA1, cerebrolysin is another peptide used more and more in peptide therapy because it enhances certain brain functions. When used in medicine, cerebrolysin has improved short and long-term memory, enhanced creativity, and increased motivation.

While these are some of the most common forms of peptide treatment, there are many more types of peptide therapy out there, and their benefits include but are not limited to: enhanced sex drive, improved sexual performance, reduction in inflammation in the body, and decreased joint pain.
