Example

For intranasal use: If you have 5mg of oxytocin powder and want 24 IU per dose (about 48 mcg), add enough saline to create your desired concentration. Since 1 IU ≈ 2 mcg, 5mg = 5000 mcg = roughly 2500 IU total.

Most commercial nasal sprays deliver about 4 IU per spray. For a 24 IU dose, you'd use 6 sprays total (3 per nostril). Custom preparations vary, so calculate based on your specific concentration.

Storage

After reconstitution

Refrigerate reconstituted solution or nasal spray at 36-46°F (2-8°C). Never freeze—this destroys the peptide structure. Keep away from light. Use within 28-30 days for optimal potency.
