With the holidays coming up and people traveling, getting a lot of questions about flying with peptides. Here’s what you need to know to get through TSA without issues.

The Good News: Research peptides in powder form are perfectly legal to fly with - domestically and internationally. TSA’s main concern is safety, not what’s in your vials.

Best Practices for Smooth Travel:

Powder Form (Recommended)

  • Keep vials in original packaging when possible

  • Place them in your carry-on, not checked luggage (temperature control)

  • If you have COAs, bring printed copies - though rarely needed

  • No quantity limits for personal research use

Reconstituted Peptides

  • Follow the 3-1-1 liquid rule: 3.4oz (100ml) or less per container

  • Place in a clear quart-sized bag

  • Consider small insulin cooler packs if needed

  • Frozen ice packs are allowed if completely frozen at screening

Pro Tips:

  • Unreconstituted is easiest - no liquid restrictions

  • Medical coolers are TSA-approved if you need temperature control

  • Don’t volunteer information unless asked

  • If questioned, simply say “research peptides” or “amino acid supplements”

  • Keep it simple and confident

What I Do: I fly with unreconstituted vials in my carry-on. Never had a single question in dozens of flights. They go through the X-ray like any other powder supplement.

International Travel: Same rules apply, but know your destination country’s regulations. Most countries allow peptides for personal research use, but when in doubt, stick to powder form.

The Reality: TSA sees thousands of supplement powders daily. Your peptides aren’t special to them. Don’t overthink it.
