What is 5-Amino-1MQ?
5-Amino-1MQ is a synthetic small molecule that targets NNMT (nicotinamide N-methyltransferase). NNMT sits at a crossroads between NAD+ biology (energy and repair signaling) and methyl donor balance (SAM/SAH). When NNMT activity is high in fat tissue in some obesity models, it can shift metabolite pools toward fat storage.
